Equipment, pollution and well-control questions

These exposures deserve separate conversations rather than a single broad liability description.

Trace equipment from yard to worksite

Record values, ownership, hired equipment, transit arrangements and responsibility during loading. Include cranes, ancillary machinery and tools where relevant. Ask about breakdown, debris removal and loss of use separately; a scheduled equipment value does not answer every interruption question.

A question to take with you

Where does the equipment protection begin and end during a move?

Name the environmental exposure

Describe fuels, chemicals, storage, waste handling and work that could affect a well. Ask how pollution, gradual contamination, care-custody-control and well-control wording interact. Dedicated products may need specialist review, and a general liability certificate is not evidence that every such exposure is included.

A question to take with you

Which pollution and well-control scenarios are explicitly addressed?

Make the next conversation useful

Bring the current documents and explain any changes. These details are a useful starting point:

  • Operations summary and site locations
  • Equipment schedule with replacement values
  • Operator contracts and insurance requirements

Ask the provider to connect its answer to the actual policy or eligibility terms, including exclusions, dates and reporting conditions. Keep the confirmed answer with the offer.
